About us

Two friends who thought this shouldn't cost that much.

Web-Scape started as a conversation about how badly small, local businesses were being priced out of having a decent website — and grew into a business built to fix it.

"Every quote we saw for a five-page site started at four figures. For a bakery. For a plumber."

Web-Scape was founded by two friends who met at college and stayed close long after. Between them they'd spent years around small, local businesses — the kind run by one or two people who are good at their trade and have no time or patience left over for anything with the word "website" in it.

What kept coming up, again and again, was the same story: a local business owner would ask around for a website, get quoted an eye-watering price by an agency, and either pay it reluctantly, cobble something together themselves, or give up and stay off the internet entirely. Meanwhile the actual work — designing and building a handful of pages — didn't need to cost anywhere near what was being charged.

So the two of them decided to build the business they thought should already exist: a straightforward web agency that builds a proper, working website for a fixed £400, and keeps it running afterwards for £49 a month — with no inflated day rates, no vague "it depends" pricing, and no vanishing act once the invoice is paid.

Web-Scape is still small and deliberately so. Every project is handled personally by people who answer their own emails, rather than passed down a chain of account managers. That's the whole idea: the same care a good local business puts into its own trade, put into the website that represents it.

The founders

Built by two people, not a department.

Co-founder — Build

Design & development

Handles the design and build of every site, making sure it looks right, works properly, and actually represents the business behind it.

Co-founder — Client work

Client relationships & maintenance

The main point of contact once a site is live — keeping it maintained, and making sure requests get answered by a person, not a ticket queue.

What we believe

A website shouldn't be a luxury.

Fair pricing

Priced for small business

A fixed £400 build and £49 a month, set at what a small local business can actually justify spending.

Straight talk

No jargon, no upsell

We explain things in plain English and don't pad quotes with services you don't need.

Long-term

Still here after launch

We built the maintenance side because we've seen too many businesses left with a site nobody looks after.
